Audi Cars is a German automobile manufacturer that designs, manufactures, markets and distributes luxury vehicles. Audi oversees operations worldwide from its headquarters in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. The Audi brand vehicles produced in nine production sites worldwide.

The origins of the company are complex, dating from the early 20th century and the first companies (Horch and Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch; and two manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer), leading to the founding of Auto Union in 1932. The modern era of Audi essentially began in the 1960s when the Union Auto was acquired by Daimler-Benz Volkswagen.  Following the relaunch of the Audi brand with the introduction of the 1965 Series F103 Audi, Volkswagen Auto Union merged with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969, creating the business stream as day.

The name of the company is based on the Latin translation of the surname of the founder August Horch. "Horch" which means "hear" in German, becomes "Audi" in Latin. The four rings of the Audi logo represent each of four car companies that banded together to create the predecessor of Audi, Auto Union. The slogan of Audi's Vorsprung durch Technik, meaning "advancement through technology". However, since 2007 Audi USA He used the slogan "Truth in Engineering". Audi Cars is one of the luxury cars sold worldwide.

In the 1990s, the average delay and new technology, Audi has implemented, including the use of the aluminum structure. Produced from 1999 to 2005, Audi Cars A2 was a futuristic super mini born from the Al2 concept, with many features that have helped to restore consumer confidence, such as aluminum space frame, which was the first in the design production cars. In the Audi Cars A2  expanded their TDI technology through the use of frugal three-cylinder. The Audi Cars A2 was extremely aerodynamic and was designed around a wind tunnel. The Audi Cars A2 was criticized for its high price and was never really a commercial success, but Audi was planted as a leading manufacturer. The model, a competitor of Mercedes-Benz A-Class, sold relatively well in Europe. However, the Audi Cars A2 was suspended in 2005 and Audi decided not to develop an immediate replacement.
